Climbing Nevado Tocllaraju

Climbing Nevado Tocllaraju

Tuqllarahu 6,032 m

Tocllaraju is not only a stunning mountain but also one of the most frequently climbed 6,000-meter peaks in the Cordillera Blanca. However, it is not always conquered due to challenges such as fog, crevasses, and bergschrunds. It is located in the Ishinca Valley, where a mountain refuge at the base camp of the Ishinca Gorge provides support for climbers.

This peak was first ascended on July 31, 1939, by W. Brecht and H. Schweizer.
